Faith and Mental Health...Compatible?

In 2019, it was estimated that 51.5 million adults aged 18 or older in the United States suffered from a mental illness of some kind. This is about 20% of all U.S. adults. Add the stress of the Covid pandemic in 2020, employment issues, disruption of routines, relationship strain and increased anxiety as a culture, and the need for mental health services becomes even more pressing.

Are all mental health services equal? Of course not, anymore than all handymen are equal in their abilities or work ethic or all physicians are equally competent. Can faith and therapy coexist? Absolutely! In fact, it is my belief that therapy not integrated with faith, would be as wobbly and ineffective as a two legged stool. For me, exploring the truths of the Christian faith with clients through scripture, the wisdom of holy people, the grace of the Sacraments is what brings a depth of healing, hope and stability to enable clients to decrease anxiety, depression, PTSD, and stabilize mood, improve relationships and increase joy. Are these goals or desires you have for yourself? I'd be honored to serve you. Why not request a free consultation and get the information you need to decide if this is right for you?
